Ice-Hot Love

Ein Gedicht von Heinrich Baumgarten
Winter chill don't bite me. Icy light, your rays
with the snowflakes blinding
my sight, piercing-cold.

Frozen paths to walk on, covered sky so grey.
Now I'm out in the open.
Wish I hadn't gone out.

I bend my head and hurry, make my way back home.
Don't keep my sweetheart waiting.
Wish I were with her.

Just you wait. I'm coming. You're the one I love.
How I long to be with you!
Don't you sense it, my dear?

Let us be together, waiting for the sun.
Put your arms around me,
end this winter's day!
